Ana Amari By Bjmaki-da9xr5l by ScarletCavaliere
Your outfit and your weapons are these

Ana’s POV

It wasn’t supposed to go like that. We were supposed to be in and out clean, but instead, the whole thing’s been one disaster after another, but we managed to make it work in our favor. I’ll take it back to when I first met him, the one who father Fareeha.

~10 years before actual Overwatch~

Nothing much was happening. Well, never mind, something was happening, but nothing was happening at the moment because we couldn’t continue the campaign against omnics, but it was an operation in Italy in working with the Italian Armed Forces to take care of some serious omnics the size of the Colosseum there. While there, I wandered around the place until I heard the laughter of children in the air, so I went to check it out and I saw a daycare here with two adult figures, a male clad in body armor and a female in a red and white dress. Both had (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes, but I don’t know if they’re brother and sister or not, but I made my presence known to the kids and adults in there with a simple knock on the wall. The male was the first to approach me with his hand out and I gave it a firm shake.

???: You’re with Overwatch correct? *hand hovers over pistol*

Ana: Yes I am, I’m Ana Amari. No need for bloodshed. We are fighting Omnics after all.

Y/n: *hand returns to the side* Well, you can’t be sure in these days, with all the nutcases about. Or secretly you could be an android. I’m Y/n L/n and the girl over there is my sister, S/n.

S/n: Hello there!

Ana: Why so many kids here near the battlefield?

S/n: I can answer that. Command here had the soldiers and their families moved here and along came the kids. Now, since this building house many refugees they had a daycare set up and Y/n here used my experience in running a daycare before to help out, although I get paid double as much because of the situation.

Y/n: What she said. Playing and seeing kids here helps out morale for the other troops, spending the down time playing with them in their little and silly games around the base. They do know where to go and what is off limits. So, any reason you came here?

Ana: Well, I just heard these children and I wanted to see what was going on.

I then felt someone tug at my arm through my fingers and I saw a bunch of kids around me.

Girl: Miss, will you play with us? We have lots of games to play!

Ana: *smiles* I guess I have some time to kill.

~Later that day~

I found the kids tucked away in their beds and sleeping soundly alongside S/n. Who would’ve thought that playing Hide and Seek would’ve been so tiring? On my way to the barracks to catch some shut eye, I find Y/n with his coat and body armor taken off to show a (f/c) button shirt and his (s/t) arms that were quite muscular. He was reading a black leather bound book and seemed to heavily invested in the book, so I decided to sit down next to him.

Y/n: Evening whoever you are.

Ana: It’s me, Ana. What brings you out here underneath the stars to be reading a book? What is it anyway?

Y/n: Weather was nice and the atmosphere wasn’t exactly tension filled, so I go out here to read to relieve myself from the stress. As for the book I’m reading, it’s none other than the Bible.

Ana: Never pinged you as a religious man.

Y/n: And you would be right, but it’s nice having a handy reading material in times of war to take your mind off it no?

Ana: I guess, but a cup of tea always relieved my stress.

Y/n: Different things apply to different people.

I gave out a hum of agreement and silence was between us other than the ambient noises of the wildlife and cicadas doing their ear drum rupturing noise, until I heard some shuffling from Y/n and a book being closed shut and I see he had a backpack with him and he offered a water bottle to me, which I took and drank out of.

Y/n: So where you from? You don’t look…American enough…

Ana: *giggles* ‘American enough?’ What’s that supposed to mean?

Y/n: You can tell where a person comes from by their name. But, since America is a little bit of everything, the next thing to rely on is the voice. The accent a person possesses.

Ana: I’m Egyptian, if you must know.

Y/n: Ah, you’re far from home. How’s Italy faring for you?

Ana: Pretty green to say the least. It’s also not too terribly hot compared to Egypt.

Y/n: I never understood how you could stand the heat in something like that.

Ana: Light colors and light material do it for you. Is there a reason for this talk?

Y/n: I’d want to get to know the people I work with is all.

Ana: Uh huh. I believe 0% of what you just said. Now tell me the real reason or I’ll shoot you where it REALLY hurts. You know where I’m talking about.

Y/n: *sigh* I thought by not telling myself it was a date, it could accidentally fall into becoming a date with you Ana.

He was so frank with the matter and it made me blush and I felt some heat rush to my face.

Ana: You barely know me though!

Y/n: What do you think I’m trying to accomplish here?

Ana: I didn’t think that talking underneath the stars was your ideal first date Y/n.

Y/n: Well…it’s not. Depending on how this talk went I was going to take you on a restaurant when we were both off and show you around Italy. Though it might not happen.

Ana: I never said I was against the idea of you taking me out on a date.

Y/n: *looks at Ana and blushes* Wha-what?!

Ana: You’re not too bad looking yourself and you work well with kids. To me, you’re husband material in my eyes, but that’s all you have going for you right now. I want to see if you can provide another set of skills to the table.

Y/n: D-d-does t-t-t-tomorrow w-w-work?

Ana: *thoughtful hum* It works. I’ll see you tomorrow Y/n.

I gave him a kiss on the cheek and I guess that was a bit too much for him because he soon passed out right underneath the night sky. He does look cute when sleeping and to save him from the bug bites outside, I carried him inside the barracks and set him down in an empty bed.

~Present Day~

From then on one date turned to several and with the Omnic Crisis averted, Jack was impressed with how Y/n performed that he offered him a position in Overwatch and Y/n accepted because at that point, he had proposed to me and now he wanted to stay alongside me for as long as he could when not on missions from either Italian Special Forces or Overwatch.

Afterwards, we eventually got married and nine months later, we had a little baby girl by the name of Fareeha, where he saw her until she reached until the age of two before he was sent on the mission that would take his life.

~2 years later after the flashback~

The mission was to secure some information on Talon from one of their weapon research facilities and be in and out clean. Notable members coming on the mission was Jack, Gabriel, Y/n, and I. We had plans to get it one way or another.

When coming close to the warehouse, the four of us had our weapons drawn out and looking all over peeking through open windows in case of an ambush.

Jack: Stay live men, we don’t want to get jumped now when we’re so close.

While both of us were on a mission, we had little Fareeha live with one of our friends while we were away. Sometimes gone for a week, sometimes gone for months…either/or the friend we agreed on was able to live with both.

We managed to get in the warehouse without a hitch and while coming inside, there were lots of flammable and explosive items inside like; crates of grenades, barrels of oil, and boxes of missiles are but a few to name out of what I saw.

Y/n: Someone at Talon is asking to be baptized in fire or they may just see if we’re phoenixes and able to be reborn from ashes.

Gabriel: Going to be hell if a firefight happens in here.

Y/n: *light laugh* I get it.

Gabriel: Get what?

Y/n: The little pun—forget it.

We eventually came across a filing cabinet and we split up to take each one there and Gabriel managed to find it, but we then heard a couple of things being dropped and heard a sizzle and we quickly turned around to see loads of live dynamite inside.

Y/n: Aw crap!

That was the last thing I heard before I blacked out from the force of the explosion.

My vision faded in and out, but in them I could see Y/n hammering the door open and he carried a heavily injured Gabriel out and tossed him out and the next time it came back he tossed Jack out. My vision came to and I saw a bleeding Y/n carry me like he did on our wedding day and handed me over to Jack, but he wasn’t coming out. He was very conflicted about escaping or getting the data and you can guess which one he chose.

Ana: Y/n! Come back!

Jack: It is NOT worth your life Y/n! We have other places we can go! We can always redo it!

Y/n: Not when they know we got a Beacon on them! It’s now or never! They’ll start the book burning everywhere else! It’ll be too late! I’ll just be quick!

He then bolted to the desk and before he could make it out of the door, the roof collapsed on him in a gigantic bonfire and to add salt to the wound, it exploded and I had lost all hope that day that Fareeha had lost her father and she will question where he has gone and I will have to tell her the unfortunate truth…

~Present Day~

It was tough raising Fareeha alone without Y/n by my side. It seems his death still grasps my mind like an anaconda. I would say I’m ok, but the word ‘broken’ has it in there. Although, I still hold out hope and so does Fareeha, as back then I checked the rubble after the fire died to find no body. Either, he had survived and is now in an unknown location or a pile of ash, which I did see there. I’m holding out for the latter, but now I fear the worst has happened to him.

He would’ve loved to meet the new people here now in Overwatch like that quirky girl named Tracer. Strange enough after Y/n’s death, couple of years later comes in a new group called the Dead Horses and they’ve been taking care of Talon and their soldiers, being supplied with military grade weapons, armors, mechs, jets, and all that other stuff.  Jack considers them a threat because of what they can do, so since they’re taking care of our enemies, he reached out to one of them to request an audience with their leader, all the way in Nevada entrenched in a ravine.

Now here we are today, having the blistering sun beat down on us all. We couldn’t have everyone pass through the ravine, so only five members of Overwatch could pass through, although they had to be human sized, so no Winston on this one. It only left Jack, Angela, McCree, Genji, and me. Navigating through the rocky and uneven terrain was tough, but the Dead Horses must’ve been native to Nevada since they’re able to pass it no problem.

The escort then led us into a cave where we see a heavily bandaged man wearing a swat vest over a button shirt with the sleeves rolled up to reveal his arms are also bandaged as well. He seemed to have a great focus in inspecting a bunch of .45 pistols and cleaning them out and setting them off to the side.

McCree: How many pistols does one guy need?

???: They’re not for me, although most are. I assume you are with Overwatch.

Jack: Yes we are. Who are you?

Burned Man: I am known as the Burned Man, leader of the Dead Horses. I hear that you wanted an alliance with us…Jack.

What? He knows Jack? How? I see him then get up and the soldiers that stood beside him were ready for battle, but he then raised a hand, lowering the weapons of the soldiers and he moved from behind the desk and I see jeans with pouches for pistol ammo on his belt that were paired with blue jeans with a hole in the knee to show off that he was also bandaged there as well. He walked up to me and caressed my cheek and I stared into his grey eyes and he stared into mine singular eye.

Burned Man: Ana…I missed you.

Ana: *eye widens* Y-Y/n?

He nods his head and I hug him gently as to not hurt him with the bandages.

Ana: I thought you were dead!

Jack: We all thought you were dead. How the hell did you even survive? The roof collapsed on you and exploded.

Y/n POV

The roof did collapse on me and it did burn a great portion of my skin off as I crawled through a hole that I could escape out of. When I did climb out, I crumpled down in pain and the various explosives went off behind me and I continued walking for a local doctor. When I reached a doctor for help, they tried healing me with their technology, but found out that I wasn’t able to be healed from it, so they used the old fashioned method of needles and bandages and I needed to be wrapped all over. The medicine they used on me was to numb the pain I was feeling and gave me bottles of painkillers prescribed to me and sent me on my merry way.

I was able to catch a bus to the airport and used my Overwatch I.D. to get myself a jet on the grounds of Overwatch business to Nevada because I heard some rebels there were going to overthrow their oppressive government and I went to see it all go down.

When I finally arrived at Nevada, I discarded and burned everything I had to do with Overwatch because these rebels didn’t want anything to do with figures of oppression, so I did it just in case because I don’t know their allegiances. I was able to make myself one of them and I was able to garner them weapons to earn their trust and helped them in their uprising.

~1 year before Present Day~

Eventually, Talon rolled into town and tried to get rid of the group I had established, so I threw them in a pit and wanted to watch them climb back out to just be shot. I planned poetic justice by dropping in napalm, but I felt that was stooping to their own level. From there, I assumed leadership role because it was unanimous and thus, the Dead Horses were born.

~Present Day~

Ana POV

Y/n: Oh, if you must know, I got those plans. Could I have some private time with my wife?

I see Jack and the others leave, along with the Dead Horse, leaving me with Y/n along as he takes my hands and envelope them in his own, now white hands due to the bandages.

Y/n: You probably married someone else no?

Ana: Never. I couldn’t do that to you. As long as I was alive, death would never part us. I promised you that at the ceremony.

Y/n: Hmm. How’s our baby girl?

Ana: She’s not a baby anymore. When she was 16, I told her of your death because I didn’t want to expose her to that at such an early age. So, would this be you doing God’s work?

Y/n: I suppose so, seeing as He gave me another chance in life.

Ana: I have much to tell you.

Y/n: I have all the time in the world.

~Timeskip~

Third Person POV

With the alliance formed, the Dead Horses were now a part of Overwatch, something that was a separate branch like Blackwatch since they were the eyes and ears of Nevada, they continued to do just that and informed you of any potential threats within Nevada and the neighboring states. Ana had informed you about the going ons in Overwatch like the former Gabriel becoming Reaper and the introduction of other new members and reunion of older members, but the only one you wanted to see was your daughter. Eventually walking the grand halls you came across your blue armored daughter and she stared at you like she was looking at a ghost.

Y/n: Fareeha.

Pharah: Dad.

She then hugged you not as hard because of your bandages and then you two broke it off.

Pharah: Does your burns still hurt?

Y/n: Every day when I take off the bandages. My body is immune to modern medicine, so I need to take pills and shots and things of the like. That also means I can’t just lie within the same bandages, though I rather be clean than comfortable.

Pharah: I’m just glad you’re alive. Though I’m a bit frightened that I might lose something to like you two.

Y/n: Let’s hope it never comes to that and hope that you don’t end up a real version of Horus like your mom or a mummy like me.

Ana: Let’s just hope it’s not a family thing of losing parts of yourself.

~In the evening~

When night fell, Ana led you to the bedroom that you two would share and you stripped down to where the only thing you would have is pants to sleep in, leaving the upper half of your body exposed to see bandages.

Ana: I think Angela can have a cybernetic body made for you like Genji.

Y/n: He has his way of dealing with his injuries and I have my way.

Ana: Something in that book of yours against altering your body in anyway?

Y/n: Eh, kind of.

Ana: *snuggles up to you* We’ve endured so much.

Y/n: The Lord works in mysterious ways to keep us both alive. I’m grateful for what He has given us.

The first line reminds me of Dempsey from CoD Black ops 3 Zombies! Great story by the way!
